The Tape Tree
My idea for this piece came from thinking about the properties of tape.
I began with it sticking things together which then led to me thinking about being stuck. The dead tree and its roots spelling stuck are supposed to represent this.
The Spiders Web
The inspiration for this piece came from thinking about things that were sticky like tape. The Spiders Web is supposed to pay homage to the natural adhesive powers of the spider and also point out the great translucence a spider's web has.
Duct Duck
I wanted to bring to like the heavy association between duct tape and ducks. This really came about from me always calling it duck tape untill I did this prodject and found out outherwise. I continued to illustrate the duck theme with more ducks flying (a reference to the sky) and with waves and water crashing against rocks. Making the connection between the the two places the duck is comfortable that we are not.
Hover Sink
Where it counts
Our souls leave through our wrist
I used this little wooden man to display a sense of the soul leaving the body. And that the wrist are the point at which it comes forth. The regular scotch tape worked well because it had a white milky ghost like feel to it. The wooden figure gives of a great dead or dying sense to do it's lack of identity and it's lifelessness.

Hover Sink
These are all the items in my roommates bathroom. I was surprised by the little amount of bathroom stuff. I wanted to show that everything could be held up by a little tape.
I was interested in using tape as a framing device to cover up a vast majority of my body. This was mostly because I feel that the face, mainly the eyes, is where our identity lies.
